I'm working on smooth contents. My application is registered to AdaptiveSourceStatusUpdatedEvent from IAdaptiveSourceManager. Is there a documentation to know how is built the string 'AdditionnalInfo' from AdaptiveSourceStatusUpdatedEventArgs?

The smooth streaming SDK team is actively working on documentation for their API; we expect this to be available soon. In the meantime, which status update event type are you interested in? The value of AdditionalInfo has different meaning depending on the event type.

for the moment, only 2 events type :

- BitrateChanged : For the moment, we have to parse the additionnal string to get played bitrate and it seems this event isn't raised each time (VideoQuality  is modified whitout BitrateChanged event)

- ChunkDownloaded : we'd like to show downloaded bitrate video....

For BitrateChanged, AdditionalInfo comes in the form of "bitrate;time". The event fires when a new track is selected by the smooth streaming heuristics engine at the time of download. The time part of AdditionalInfo tells you the cooresponding playback time. The player framework handles this delay and postpones updating MediaQuality until the actual playback time for the change is reached.

Does this help?
