Using the lates Player Framework v.1.0 in XAML on WIndows 8 I get the following error when I set a new source at the media player without loading the page again.

System.Exception   at Windows.Media.PlayTo.PlayToSource.get_Connection()   at Microsoft.PlayerFramework.MediaPlayer.autoHideTimer_Tick(Object sender, Object e)

Any way this can be solved. That is all the info I get from the debugger.

e.Exception.Message: Exception from HRESULT: 0xC00D3E85
HRESULT: -1072873851

chrisva, thank you for reporting this. I am unable to repro the problem you're experiencing but I have seen times when simply calling the getter on PlayToSource.Connection will throw a catchable excaption -- which is definitely what you're seeing. This may actually be a bug in Windows 8 (not certain)

Nevertheless, to help workaround this, I will go ahead and put some safeguards in place to make sure if this happens, that it doesn't crash the app. This fix will be available in the next update. DM me if this ends up blocking you from shipping and I can try to help you find a suitable way to patch the problem.
