I am developing a Windows 8 Metro Style application. I would like to ask a question about AACL audio codec support for smooth streaming. There is an audio smooth streaming address. I would like to play the streaming audio data of it. It only includes audio data, no video data is being streamed from the source. Is it possible to play the smooth streaming audio with AACL codec (not AAC)? Windows Phone 8 supports AACL audio codec format, and we are able to play the audio only smooth streaming data. Our customer also wants to play smooth streaming audio data with AACL codec, is it possible? Thanks a lot...

AACL is supported by Smooth SDK (actually the support comes from Windows platform). However audio only is unfortunately not supported by Win8 SDK. Note: the WP8 SDK does support audio only on the other hand.

To work around this, you should be able to create a super small dummy blank video track.
