PlayReady issue

Topics: Windows 8 JavaScript

I have ran the 'Windows 8 Javascript' PlayReady sample on my machine at home without any error, but when trying to run it on my machine at work it fails and the error message is:

'Media protection manager component load failed
--Component \windows\System32\sgfxu64.dll (0x268435457)'
Media error occured
---Message: MEDIA_ERR_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED (0x80070241)

All other samples work fine on both machines

The machine at home is Windows 8.1
The machine at work is Windows 8.

The PlayReady SDK requires that you build your project with the same architecture that your machine is using. For example, if you are running the 64 bit version of Windows, you need to set the VS build configuration to run the x64 build. This one still get's me too from time to time :)

Thank you Tim for that.

Unfortunately that didn't help and the PlayReady video always came with the MEDIA_ERR_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED error.

However I have tried it today and found it is working. The only thing that has changed on the machine is that I have installed VS 2013 Express and updated the Graphics card driver (NVIDIA Quadro 600).
